Master Class series

Join us every Saturday from 9-11 am for our Masterclass Series. Each Saturday will be a different genre and teacher. Masterclasses are classes taught by professionals in their specialized fields of expertise. These classes help dancers learn, grow, and experience so many new things. We ask dancers to go in with an open mindset and try their best.

Olivia Mozie - Ballet

Olivia will be teaching a ballet class on Saturday, January 7, 2023. The class is 9 am- 11 am with a fee of $25 per dancer. This class is for ages 10 and up. Adults are welcome. 

Olivia is joining us from Boston Conservatory.

Stephanie Cureton - PBT

Stephanie will be teaching a PBT class on Saturday, January 21, 2023. This class is 9 am- 10 am with a fee of $20 per dancer. This class is for ages 6 to adults, all levels are welcome. Stephanie's passion for dance was sparked at the age of 3 in Fort Knox, KY. After moving back to Greenville, SC she started her training with Barbara English at English Theatre Arts. She graduated from the South Carolina Governor's School for Arts and Humanities in the dance pre-professional program.  While there she studied ballet, pointe, and modern under the direction of Llyod Whitmore, Irina Ushakova, and Stanislav Issaev. She then went on to receive her BA in dance/psychology from Agnes Scott College. While there she studied Ballet, Martha Graham Modern Technique, Jazz, and Labanotation under Bridget Roosa.  Not only did she perform in Studio Dance Theatre, the school's dance company, she also choreographed several pieces for the company. She has choreographed and performed for local projects both in Atlanta and Greenville. Currently. She teaches in a variety of places throughout Greenville county while also being a freelance performer and choreographer. In the future, she plans to pursue Graduate school with a master's in dance and physical therapy.

Naina Dewan- Modern

Naina will be teaching a Modern class on Saturday, February 11, 2023. This class is 9 am -10:30 am with a fee of $20  per dancer, This class is for ages 9 and up. Adults are welcome. 

Naina Dewan is a dance educator, choreographer, and nationally certified Alexander Technique teacher based in Greenville, SC. She earned her B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Dance from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She earned her national Teacher Certification in Alexander Technique from the American Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City, where she also studied clinical social work at New York University. She completed her Master of Fine Arts in Dance at Hollins University in 2018. 

Naina specializes in teaching modern dance, improv, and the Alexander Technique which enhances fluidity, freedom of movement, and performance to dancers, musicians, and singers. She has served on the faculties of Berkshire Dance Theatre (Massachusetts), SC Governor's School for Arts & Humanities, Fine Arts Center, International Ballet Academy, Converse University, Carolina Dance Collaborative, and Senior Action. In 2013, she founded Naina Dewan Dance Company, a contemporary dance company whose projects have included performances at Clemson, Furman, Converse, Savannah College of Art & Design, TEDx Greenville, Greenville County Museum of Art, Artisphere, and choreographing for Disney Hyperion’s Serafina and the Splintered Heart book trailer. Naina is currently the Director of the Fine Arts Center at Senior Action, teaches at IBA, and serves on the Thesis Advisory Committee for Hollins University’s MFA Dance Program.

Amanda Norton- Bootcamp

Amanda will be teaching a Body Bootcamp on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 9 am to 11 am.  This class is for ages 10 and up (Adults are welcome).

Michelle Morast - Hip Hop

Michelle will be teaching Hip Hop on Saturday, January 14, 2023. This class is 9 am- 10:30 am with a fee of $20 per dancer. This class is for ages 9 and up. Adults are welcome. 

Michelle Morast was born in Valdosta, GA into a military family. She had the opportunity to live across the world due to her father’s line of work in the Air Force.

She moved to Japan in 2006 at the age of 10. She lived on Yokota Air Force Base, located in Fussa, Tokyo, Japan for 7 years. She always had a love for music and dance. It wasn’t until entering high school that she decided to take dance more seriously. She attended weekly classes at boogie zone Utopia in Shinagawa. She also attended workshops and masterclasses with the Izumi Dance Company and would invite choreographers from all over the world to teach. Michelle was given the opportunity to perform in several showcases around Tokyo, working with choreographers such as Keita McGee, Tony Tzar, and Minami Doi. 

After Graduating High School in 2013, she moved to Greenville, SC where she currently resides. She continued her dance training in various styles around, the Greenville, Charlotte, and Atlanta areas.  After a year of living in Greenville, she started teaching hip-hop and acro classes and has been teaching for the past 8 years. She has been seen at Greenville Theatre as an ensemble in “Legally Blonde” and “All Shook Up”. In 2018, she choreographed and danced in Glow Lyric Theatre’s “In the Heights” production. She recently finished a contract as a dancer with Carowinds and is currently a part of the agency program at Xcel Studios located in Atlanta, GA .
